Why Twitch?

A lot of people ask us why a post-production facility would name itself Twitch. And why would it choose a fish skeleton to be its logo? Here’s a gut-wrenchingly honest answer.

A couple of years ago, one of Twitch’s founders, Chris Cooper, bought a goldfish. He named it Twitch. It’s only a guess, but we suspect it’s because it used to twitch, like fish do. One day Chris Cooper was going on a trip. He had to leave Twitch for several days in its lonely fish tank. When Chris Cooper was already at the bus stop, he remembered that he didn’t feed the poor fish. He realized that if didn’t go back, Twitch would die. Chris Cooper was presented with a tough choice: to save a life and miss his bus or to catch the bus and let his pet die.

Three days later, while Chris Cooper was enjoying his vacation in New Hampshire, Twitch died from starvation.
